Description Teaching Objective:
Ancient Greek philosophy is the source of Western thought and it is closely related to the development of Christianity. This course will begin with the crib of ancient Greek philosophy—Greek mythology—to explore how ancient Greek philosophy (pre-Socratic era) achieves its brilliant success in the Classical Greek era (represented by Socrates, Plato and Aristotle), and its impact on later Hellenistic and Roman philosophy.

Teaching Content:
The course will involve the philosophical ideas of the following periods: Homeric and pre-Socratic period, Classical Greek era, and Hellenistic and Roman era.
