Teaching Content:
Philosophical discussions of ethics have both practical significance (what should we do?) and theoretical interest (what does it mean to say “that is the right thing to do”?) In this course we will examine one the main moral questions in Western philosophy, that is, are there objective ethical truths in our society? We try to respond to this question through the reading of some of the moral theories offered by Aristotle, Hume, Kant, Bentham, Mill, and Nietzsche etc.
