Description Teaching Objective:
To investigate an important tradition of Christianity: theology of mysticism.

Teaching Content:
The course will first introduce the inclination of mysticism in Greek civilization. It will then introduce the mysticism of Pseudo-Dionysius in the patristic period, the mysticism headed by Eckhart in the medieval time, modern mysticism represented by St. Teresa of Avila and St. John of the Cross. Finally, it will compare the mysticism inclination in Chinese culture with the theology of mysticism in Christianity.
