Description | Teaching Objective: To introduce the students to a general knowledge of the contents, exegesis and theology of the Gospel of John. Teaching Content: The material is subdivided into four sections: 1. Introduction to the Gospel of John: Provenance (Author and Date), 2. Composition (Structure, Literary Techniques), 3. The Prologue (1:1-18) as instrument for reading the whole Gospel, 4. Exegesis and Theology (Tradition and innovation, Word, Light, Life, Mission), The Meaning of Cana, The question of a special Johannine theological vocabulary.
