Description | Teaching Objective: Exploration of anthropological insights into the human condition Teaching Content: Genesis 1-11 gives a synthesis of the Israelite view of God and human beings, world and society that witnesses to a progression within Israel’s national consciousness towards universalisation. It was facilitated by the prophets, wisdom teachers and the experience of the Exile until sometime in the post-Exilic period it reached its final form. We will explore the content of this synthesis as well as the historical xperiences that led to the realisation that human beings need a Saviour.
