Description Teaching Objective:
Helping the students to read the original books of Taoism: Lao Tzu and Chuang Tzu. Teaching students to understand the main idea and spirit of Taoism.

Teaching Content:
In Pre-Ch’in culture, Confucianism and Taoism were the philosophical schools that made the greatest impact on later generations. Within the Taoist school, the thought of Lao Tzu and the thought of Chuang Tzu are preeminent. Lao-Chuang thought has its own philosophical uniqueness and depth. The core of this course consists in approaching the original texts and studying Lao Tzu’s natural way and Chuang Tzu’s mystical way, two ways which base morality and value on the pure and simple nature of man. A reflection is also made on the contemporary relevance of Lao-Chuang thought.
