Description | Teaching Objective: This course seeks to familiarize students with the three major elements of Taoism, namely, the gods, the immortals and morality. It will introduce Taoism as a local religion that aims at harmony and health, and considers being gods and immortals as the ultimate goal of religious practice. Teaching Content: 1. A local Chinese religion 2. The gods 3. The immortals 4. Moral education 5. The Taoist unity of the gods, the immortals and morality 6. Taoist scriptures 7. Taoist philosophy 8.
