Description | Teaching Objective: With the gradual deepening of discussion of the course, helping the students deepen and enlarge their understanding of metaphysics as the foundation of the Western philosophy; At the same time we also hope to help the students have a more in-depth understanding about the relationship between metaphysics and theology and the catholic Church tradition. In addition, through the analysis of the Chinese metaphysics and its role in the modern Chinese society we also hope to find some source and inspiration of the inculturation of the catholic faith in China. Teaching Content: This course is divided into four parts: 1. Introduction to Metaphysics, 2. the Monograph part, 3. the part about the contemporary crisis and beyond. 4. Finally, there will be an additional section: metaphysical dimension of Chinese culture and its role in the transformation and reconstitution of the contemporary Chinese new culture.
