Description Teaching Objective:
Focusing on core issues of common concern to philosophy and theology, this course explores the tension and interaction between the development of theology and philosophy in Western intellectual history. Furthermore, within the context of today's pluralistic philosophy, it explores the resources and challenges that philosophical speculation presents to theology.

Teaching Content:
1. The Interaction between Reason and Faith: The Convergence and Divergence of Philosophy and Theology in History
2. Core Issues in the Philosophy of Religion, such as the concept and ontological justification of God; the epistemological status of religious belief and religious experience; the language of faith; the problem of evil; and the relationship between morality and religion
3. Criticisms of Christianity by contemporary philosophers of religion (e.g., Marx, Freud, etc.) and the responses from theology
4. Exploring the possibility of developing a "Catholic Philosophy" or "Christian Philosophy" today
