| Description | Teaching Objective: The course mainly introduces the philosophy of dialogue in Twentieth-Century European continental philosophy as a new philosophical trend distinct from the traditional idealism. Aiming to initiate the further interest and concern, this course presents the principles, characteristics and significance of the dialogical philosophy primarily through Martin Buber’s classical work I and Thou, and some other works by the major dialogical philosophers such as Ferdinand Ebner and Franz Rosenzweig. Teaching Content: a. The initiation and development of dialogical philosophy b. The principles and characteristics of dialogical philosophy c. Reading and study of Martin Buber’s I and Thou d. The dialogical philosophy of Ferdinand Ebner e. The dialogical philosophy of Franz Rosenzweig f.
