Description | Teaching Objective: This seminar provides an overview of the Trinitarian theology of St. Augustine of Hippo (354–430), St. Thomas Aquinas (1225–1274), Karl Rahner (1904–1984), and Bernard Lonergan (1904–1984). Teaching Content: Through reading and discussion of selected texts in the writings of Augustine, Aquinas, Rahner, Lonergan, and as supplemented by secondary sources, students will trace the development of Trinitarian doctrine in the Christian tradition and correlate the significance of Trinitarian theology to Christian faith nowadays.
