Description | Teaching Objective The course aims at helping students grasp Karl Rahner’s transcendental method and theological anthropology, and investigating profoundly the core concepts of Rahner’s transcendental Christology, with a view to apply his transcendental Christology to provide meaningful theological explanations for the soteriology of the Second Vatican Council. Teaching Content: 1. Historical sources and content of Rahner’s transcendental method 2. Rahner’s theological anthropology 3. Rahner’s transcendental Christology 4. Applying Rahner’s transcendental Christology to provide theological explanations and to establish the theological ground for Vatican II’s soteriology Teaching Mode: Teaching assisted by small-group discussion Assessment Mode: A course thesis and its oral defence |
