Description | Teaching Objective: 1. To show the students the action of God in the life of St. Ignatius; 2. The study of Ignatian spirituality in the context of St. Ignatius’ life journey. Teaching Content: 1. The search for the person of St. Ignatius opens up the vast world of Ignatian spirituality. 2. The study of the “Autobiography” is the primary source for entering into the intimacy of the person of St. Ignatius. The approach to the person of St. Ignatius will take place through the study of the text of the “Autobiography”. 3. The development of the course will follow an accompaniment of the person of Ignatius from Ignatius the gentleman to Ignatius the founder of the Society of Jesus (Saint). This journey will see the different stages of Ignatius’ life, that is, Ignatius the pilgrim, Ignatius the student, Ignatius the friend and finally Ignatius the founder. However, he does not stop being a constant pilgrim of God’s will throughout his life. Teaching Mode: Lecture and Class Discussion Assessment Mode: Oral Examination Assignment: 1. Reading the “Autobiography” of St. Ignatius and related commentaries. 2. Reading works on Ignatian spirituality. |
