| Description | Teaching Objective: This course introduces major events in church history from its origins to the thirteenth century, exploring key themes and scope through classroom reading of primary historical sources. Teaching Content: The course examines the history of Christianity from Jesus Christ and the New Testament to the thirteenth century. It covers historical events and important themes that shaped the ancient and medieval Church. Students will be able to (a) grasp a chronology of major events in ancient and medieval church history, (b) identify key figures of this period, (c) narrate key events in church history over these thirteen centuries, and (d) discuss significant historical and theological issues of this period.
