The Introduction to the New Testament introduces the New Testament from four aspects: (1) the background of the New Testament; (2) the formation of the New Testament; (3) the circulation, damage, and reconstruction of the New Testament; and (4) criticism of the New Testament (the method of studying it).
Introduction to the Apostolic Epistles introduces the eighteen apostolic epistles other than those of John. In principle, we introduce the writing background, main content, main theological ideas, etc. of each letter.
Reading the New Testament has become a common thing, but few people pay attention to the fact that they need some kind of introduction. Introduction to the New Testament is divided into two courses. This section introduces the four Gospels and related documents: the Acts of the Apostles (with the Gospel of Luke), the Epistles, and the Apocalypse (with the Gospel of John). The purpose is to understand the nature of these books in order to establish a correct reading method. The introduction should study the writing of the book: the source of the information, the author, the time and place of the book, the content and structure, etc. Special attention is paid to the different literary genres in the Gospels, the Gospels, their unique literary genre in the history of literature, the facts and problems of the Synoptic Gospels, the composition and institution of the Johannine community and its influence on John's writings.
