A comprehensive understanding of the Liturgical Year with its development in the course of the centuries; the Liturgy of the Hours in the past and at present and the importance and the meaning of popular devotions and the liturgy.

1. Liturgical Year: Sunday, Easter cycle (Lent and Easter season), Christmas cycle (Advent and Christmas season); ordinary time and the sanctoral cycle.
