| Description | Teaching Objective: The rights language of liberalism dominates the discussion in modern political theory, and justice has become the most discussed topic. Are Modern political thoughts necessarily better than the ancient classics? This course examines the historical development of the main political philosophical concepts. Students understand and critically examine different political philosophies through discussion of different themes. Teaching Content: This course will have three focuses: 1. studying the theoretical foundation and arguments of those critical texts of political philosophy classics; 2. Understanding the Catholic political philosophy; 3. introducing fundamental political philosophy concepts, such as state and citizens, Democracy and Monarchy, justice and friendship, and Cosmopolitanism.
