Credit Hours The calculation of credits is according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
Assessment There are two general kinds of assessment, namely, formal examination and assignment.

Requirements for Graduation a. On completing the courses, students will be given an annual report. Those who have obtained 180 ECTS credits may sit for the Degree or Final Comprehensive Examination that is both written and oral. This examination leads to the Degree of Bachelor in Religious Sciences that is granted by the Faculty of Theology of Pontifical Urbaniana University. The written examination scripts, which will be sent to the University, should be in English.

b. The requirements for obtaining the B.R.S. Degree include the following:
i. Candidates shall have obtained a grade in each major area (i.e. Sacred Scripture, Fundamental and Dogmatic Theology, Liturgical and Sacramental Theology, and Moral Theology) of not less than 70% and a grade in each minor area of not less than 60%;

ii. They shall have taken a written examination for 5 to 6 hours and an oral examination for 60 minutes on the thesarium approved by the Faculty of Theology of Pontifical Urbaniana University;

iii. They shall have obtained a grade in each of the above-mentioned examinations of not less than 60% and on average a total grade of not less than 70%;

iv. Apart from sitting for the Degree or Final Comprehensive Examinations, they shall compose and present in public an annual research paper for fifteen minutes. This is then followed by a discussion for another fifteen minutes with three professors acting as examiners. In this paper, the students must demonstrate the capacity to formulate and present a logical argument on a theme, which is chosen from a list of theses prepared by the H.I.R.S.; and

v. They shall pay the examination and diploma fees as prescribed by the H.I.R.S. and by Pontifical Urbaniana University.
